The dirty little secret of the bicycle business is the “spring tune-up”. This is generally a “one price fits all” arrangement, where each bike that rolls through the door is a fifty dollar bill to the bike shop, regardless of the condition of the bike. People are willing to pay for the “peace of mind” of thinking their bikes have been thoroughly serviced by an expert, and often all the customer gets for their money is peace of mind based on a false premise.
At West Trails Bicycles, your bike is placed in a work-stand and checked over in your presence when you bring it in for service, so that we can together determine the best way to meet your service needs with fewer surprises and less chance of time wasting phone tag.
If it is obvious while in the check-in stand that your vehicle is in great shape, how then will we be able to charge you $50 to give it a tune-up?
This process keeps us honest and you informed, and we hope will bring smiles to faces on both sides of the repair counter.
Speaking of service... Quality bicycle repair service is NOT a commodity. By comparison shopping you might find lower prices, but I assure you, you will not find better service at lower prices... just lower prices.
